Trainees are given an opportunity to preference rotations, annual leave, study leave, and make special requests ahead of the annual roster build process. Consideration is made of rotational requirements, breadth of training, and caring responsibilities.
All Trainees sitting the written RACP exam are rostered two weeks of study leave to attend one of the preparation courses in Melbourne, Sydney, or Dunedin prior to the exam, and on occasion annual leave is coincided to give better preparation for both written and clinical exams. Exam leave is allocated in line with the Victorian DiT EBA.
Trainees can apply to job share during the job application phase. These applications will be considered if possible to accommodate within RACP Capacity to Train guidelines.
